Jeera Rice


Jeera rice is one of the most simplest of Indian dishes it's a perfect accompaniment to all heavy Indian curries like paneer makhani, dal tadka or any given gravy.

Ingredients :

1 cup Basmati Rice
2 tsp Cumin
5-6 Peppercorns
Salt to taste



Method :

Wash the rice clean
soak the rice for 15 minutes
Heat oil in a heavy bottomed pan
Add cumin and peppercorn and saute until cumin is golden
Add the drained rice. Saute until the rice gets toasted
Add 2 cups water and salt as per tatse and mix well
Close with a lid and cook on medium flame until the water is almost absorbed
Lower the heat and close the lid and let it cook for another 5 minutes
Your jeera rice is ready to be served
