Uses of Lemon for healthy hair

So what is preventing us from having such beautiful hair? The culprit is dandruff. Dandruff is the main reason for hairfall. We do have so many shampoos being advertised, promising dandruff free hair, and yes they do get rid of the dandruff but with that it also takes away our hairs natural moisture content leaving our hair dry and frizzy.

Lemon belongs to the family of citrus fruits, it has many uses and benefits.

Lemons are rich in nutrients like vitamin C, magnesium, calcium and flavonoids which makes them great for your hair, skin and body.

Steps for lemon juice hair therapy :
  • Cut a fresh lemon in two parts
  • Squeeze fresh lemon juice on your hair and scalp directly
  • Now massage your scalp with the same squeezed lemon wedges for 5 minutes.
  • Let the juice be in your hair for more 10 minutes.
  • Later wash your hair with a mild shampoo.
  • For best results do this once a week


Lemon Juice Rinse :

Sometimes after shampooing your hair some of the shampoo remains in the hair and scalp, this left over shampoo damages hair follicles. When you rinse your hair with lemon juice it fully cleans your hair to ensure no traces of shampoo are left behind in the hair or scalp.

Steps to prepare lemon juice rinse :

  • Take 1/4 bucket of water and squeeze the juice of one lemon in it.
  • Use this water as a final rinse for your hair after shampooing to ensure no traces of shampoo are left behind in the hair or scalp.
  • Do this everytime you shampoo your hair to avoid damage to hair follicles. 


Using Lemon Oil with Castor Oil and Olive Oil :

Using a mixture of lemon oil, castor oil and olive oil promotes healthy hair growth. Castor oil helps to develop longer, stronger and thicker hair. While olive oil nourishes hair from the root to the tip as it contains essential fats and vitamins. Lemon oil helps in getting rid of dandruff in hair.

Steps for using lemon oil with castor oil and olive oil :

  • In a bowl mix 1/2 tablespoon warm castor oil and 1 tablespoon warm olive oil and a few drops of lemon oil.
  • Apply this mix in your hair and scalpand massage well for 10 minutes
  • Let the oil sit in your hair for atleast 6 hours
  • Later follow the lemon juice hair therapy to remove the excess oil from your hair and wash your hair with a mild shampoo. 
  • For best results use this mix of lemon oil,  castor oil and olive oil once a week. 


Lemon Oil, Coconut Oil and Camphor Oil for Dandruff Relief
Lemon Oil, Coconut Oil and Camphor Oil are rich in antifungal property making this blend a strong anti-dandruff blend. Also the cooling property of camphor gives relief from itchy scalp.

Steps for using Lemon Oil, Coconut Oil and Camphor Oil for Dandruff Relief :
  • Mix a few drops of lemon oil and camphor oil to a tablespoon of warm coconut oil
  • Apply this mixture on your scalp and hair and massage it for at least 5 minutes
  • Let the mixture of these oil sit in your hair overnight
  • In the morning dampen a towel and wrap it round your hair and keep it for 10 minutes
  • Remove the towel and wash your hair with a mild shampoo


Using Lemon Juice and Coconut Water
Coconut water is a rich source of natural nutrients and minerals which is good for nourishing hair. Adding lemon to Coconut water increases the nutrients and minerals of this mixture.

Steps for using Lemon juice and Coconut Water :
  • Mix 1 tablespoon lemon juice with 1/4 cup fresh Coconut water.
  • Apply this mixture of lemon juice and coconut water on your scalp and massage well for 5 minutes
  • Let the mixture stay on your scalp for 20 minutes
  • Later rinse your hair with cean water
  • For best results repeat this remedy once a week. 


Lemon and Aloe Vera

Steps for using lemon juice with aloe vera :

  • Mix 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
  • With 2 tablespoon aloe vera gel
  • Apply this mixture on your scalp and hair
  • Massage this mixture on your scalp for 5 minutes
  • Let the mixture sit in your hair for 20 minutes and later wash your hair
